New Spell - Beast Mark (nature)

Beast Mark

Level: 1
Duration: 1 turn
Range: touch

The caster smears the spore of a local, natural animal, on a non-movable surface (tree, rock, etc) and quietly chants a prayer to that animal spirit. Within 2d4 rounds 1d3 animals of that type arrive. Animal type must be at or below the HD of the caster. The animals are uncontrolled when they arrive and most likely in a territorial mood, meaning reactions begin as unfriendly.

After 1 turn the influence of the spell wanes and the animals are free to do as they will.

Nice spell. Useful enough I could see someone actually developing the spell, but not too over powered.

Thanks.

This one is meant more for the Druid type of priest.

Drawing on what little I know of hunting and from watching enough nature shows over the years, this seemed basic enough to be useful without being easy to abuse.

When thinking of ways to use it I thought first of how it could help a druid learn what is going on by calling the locals and quizzing them. Then I put on the tactical hat and thought of ways to use it against enemies.

It could be used to potentially delay or distract pursuers, or to lure mean critters to an enemy camp.
